We are currently planning the fall season (the schedule is currently posted). As always, we would appreciate your help. Please let us know how you can volunteer and support our organization, contributing to the quality experience for the kids. Question about the weather?Soccer is a game that is traditionally played in not only in good weather but in inclement weather as well. The safety of our players is a prime concern and we will not play if we believe there is an issue that might subject our players to injury. We will not play if there is lightening. To find out if games have been cancelled, please call the hotline number, 617.361.2255x14. The hotline will be updated with a cancellation message by 8:30 if there is a league decision not to play. For practices, consult your coach. Your rule of thumb should be that if you haven't heard from your coach and the hotline doesn't say the games have been cancelled, we are playing soccer so come down to Ross field.
Let your kids run with us!Hyde Park Soccer for Kids, HPSK, is a community program to afford children living in Hyde Park, Massachusetts of all abilities with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of soccer by participating in practices and competing in games. Teams are coed and are for area children between the ages of five and thirteen (age on April 1, 2008). Games are played at Hyde Park's Ross Field during spring and fall seasons. The program is staffed by volunteers.
Thank you, volunteers!Thank you to all who volunteered in any capacity to make this season a success. Kids love seeing their parents involved. The coaches, assistant coaches, the referees and league officers have all contributed much to this effort. Many more people worked behind the scenes helping to coordinate various events, particularly the BBQ. So many people helped by graciously moving a goal, collecting the flags, or helping to pick up the trash after the games. HPSK is the successful program that it is because of all these efforts. As we begin to make plans for the upcoming season please think about how you can contribute to make the spring season as much fun for the kids as we can. We are all busy, but think about something that you might be able to do to help out. Take a moment and email or call and leave a message at 617.361.2255x14 to let us know what you think you can do to support your HPSK player. We need you!Remember, that Hyde Park Soccer for Kids is a parent volunteer organization. There are many ways that you can participate. Some take very little time. Helping to set up the field before after the games, putting equipment away after the games, or even picking up the trash takes very little time but is much appreciated. Please ask your child's coach or a league officer to find out how you can help. Watch this space for announcements. For comments or suggestions on the website, click here to send email. |
